Showing Him Love

II John 1:6 And this is love, that we walk after his commandments. This is the commandment, That, as ye have heard from the beginning, ye should walk in it.

Professing that you love someone is good, but true love demonstrates itself.  In order to understand what true love is, we must look at what it is not.  True love is not envious, boastful, proud, dishonoring others, self-seeking, easily angered, and it does not keep records of wrong or take pleasure in evil of any kind.  True love is patient and kind; rejoices with the truth; always protects, trusts, hopes, and perseveres and it never fails, no matter what.  Jesus requires this type of love.  If you truly love Him, you will show it by your willingness to keep His commands to love Him with every fiber of your being and to love others.  It is understood that you must love God and Pastor R.F. Vernon would also say, “You got to love people”.  Obedience to God’s commands is truly the only proof that you love Him.  Let us all go walking today.  That is, walking in God’s commandments to love.  Show Him love.

Prayer for today:  Father, I ask for help to not just talk about love, but to walk in love toward You and others every day.  In JESUS name, AMEN.
