Buzzard Counsel

buzzards brcbirdiesI Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

Communication in this scripture is the Greek word homilia, which means companionship, a crowd, or associations.  There is a familiar quote that states, “Buzzards flock in packs and eagles soar alone.  According to Anthony Sluzas, “The buzzard induces fear and dread to the already dying.  It is nature’s symbol of death and destruction”.  Paul gives this warning to help you to avoid evil associations that will cause death to your future.  He said, “Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.  It could be rendered: Don’t be misled, delusional, or seduced and wander away from the truth.  Evil associations will destroy you, change you from good to bad and ruin you by immoral influences that will lead you away from good moral habits.  David gave his son instructions regarding “Buzzard Counsel”:  If buzzards try to entice you to sin, turn your back on them.  Don’t go along with them!  Stay far away from their paths or you will learn to be like them and endanger your soul.  Buzzards are always lurking, trying to entice you to do something that will cause you separation from God.  Be alert!

Prayer for today:  Father, please open the eyes of my understanding so that I may see and be on guard against evil influences that will lead me away from you.  In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that.  Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
