Go Deep!

Launch Out Into the Deep 65009e8536d6fe3890657f4dfe33303cLuke 5:4 Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

“Go deep” is a command that is commonly associated with football.  It is when the quarterback is planning to throw a long pass to his receiver.  Should the receiver run a shallow route, the ball will sail past him.  God is commanding believers to go deep into Him, to spend quality time with Him, to get to know Him intimately.  For if we run a shallow route, we will miss Him and all the blessings that He has for us will pass us by.  Jesus commanded Simon Peter to launch out into the deep to catch a draught.  Simon answered, “Master, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets.”  Working hard without Jesus is wasted energy without positive results.  Had Peter not been obedient to Jesus’ command, he would have missed the blessing of a break-net, overflowing catch of fish.  When you are obedient to God’s command to launch out into the deep, not only will the blessings overflow your nets, but you will be prompted to call your partners to come and fill their nets as well.  Go deep!

Prayer for today:  Father, I will go deep and let down my nets not for my sake alone, but also for the sake of others.  In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that.  Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.

Love
