Clean This House from the Inside Out

Psalms 51-10 tumblr_njy7ugI2nU1s91yx0o1_500Psalms 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

Sometimes temptation will cause a person to have a temporary loss of memory.  A relationship gone bad, someone saying something foul to you, a co-worker taking credit for an idea that the LORD gave you, or finding yourself in a place where you should not be physically or spiritually are examples of things that may cause a believer to forget who he is and who dwells big on the inside of him.  Isaac Carree sang the song “Clean This House”, which is a prayer of repentance and a plea for help.  “This House” for the believer refers to your body (temple) which houses the Spirit of God.  Realizing that God could not live in an unclean temple (body) David prayed that God would create in him a clean heart and renew a right spirit within him.  Creation is the divine act of God causing something to exist that has never existed before.  David had a heart, no doubt, but it needed an oil change, a pouring out of that part of him, which was bent on sinning against God and replacing it with fresh oil, a cleansing of his heart with the word of God so that he could be presented to God holy and blameless.  David desired a renewed spirit that was in right-standing with God, a recreated spirit, a spirit that would not yield to temptation, a righteous and holy spirit so that the Spirit of God would continually dwell within him.  Since God cannot dwell in an unclean temple, He is waiting to hear a prayer of repentance and a plea for help to forgive, cleanse, and help you maintain a clean house.

Prayer for today:  Father, Give me a pure heart and renew in me a right spirit.  In JESUS name, AMEN.

Whatever you must do today, there is a grace for that.  Accept the grace and make it a sweatless day.
